On Sunday night in Tulsa, Justin Thomas emerged victorious at the PGA Championship by beating Will Zalatoris in a three-hole aggregate playoff. This marks Thomas’ second PGA and major title, having previously won at Quail Hollow Club in 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thomas also made history by tying the largest final-round comeback in PGA Championship history with a seven-shot comeback. The playoff was necessary as Thomas and Zalatoris both finished with 5-under scores after 72 holes, marking the fifth three-hole playoff in PGA Championship history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the playoff, both players matched birdies on the first hole, but Thomas ultimately secured the victory by getting a birdie on the 17th hole, while Zalatoris settled for par. On the final playoff hole, Thomas clinched the championship with a clean par.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The playoff was unexpected, as Chilean Mito Pereira had held a three-stroke lead for most of the final round, but his hopes were dashed on the 18th hole with a double-bogey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
