Rory McIlroy Wins His Third FedEx Cup

The TOUR Championship at Atlanta’s East Lake Golf Club was an event to remember. Defending champion Rory McIlroy pulled off a stunning victory over the world’s best golfers, winning his third TOUR Championship title and becoming only the second golfer in history to win three consecutive championships at East Lake.

The Setting for Epic Golfing Moments

The setting for the TOUR Championship could not have been more perfect for professional golfers such as Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, and Jon Rahm. With its backdrop of Atlanta’s vista that included a lake and rolling hillsides, it was just the place for these talented players to showcase their skills.

A Spectacular Finish

The final round saw some truly spectacular shots made by both Rory McIlroy, Sungjae Im and Scottie Scheffler as they battled for supremacy on the leaderboard. But it was clear that Rory was determined to win; he made up several strokes over his competitors throughout the day with consistent play on every hole.

He ended up finishing with a total score of 21 under par. His winnings from the tournament totaled $18 million, bringing his overall earnings for the season to over $28.3 million.

McIlroy’s dominance on the course was clear, he held a one-stroke lead on the final hole. He was known for his long and consistent drives, and this tournament was no exception. Additionally, he was deadly on the greens, making over 115 feet of putts on the final day, the most in the field. He finished the tournament with a score of 21-under par.

It was a surprising outcome, as Scheffler had started the day with a six-stroke lead and had led the tournament from the first shot until the 16th hole of the final round. However, as the tournament reached its final stages, Scheffler faltered, finishing in a tie for second. He also had the worst score on the final day, with 3-over par.

This year’s Tour Championship was noteworthy for who was absent as well as who was present. Many of the best golfers in the world were not in attendance due to either resigning their PGA membership or being barred from the PGA after agreeing to play LIV Golf events.
